The Uphill Climb

The video, from The Philadelphia Reentry Coalition, is worth watching.  It emphasizes some common barriers that people face trying to reenter society after prison.  The subject’s story is a common one, I find.  After getting out, men and women have good intentions and want to start over, desiring to live their lives crime free but encounter barriers like discrimination, prejudice, unforgiveness and mistrust.  These barriers are so formidable that going back to prison seems more attractive…

In Luke 6:37 Jesus says, "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:” Some people believe that forgiving also means reconciling.  But, it doesn’t.

Returning Citizens Already Have Business Skills

Let me start with a definition:  In the world, good and bad are relative terms defined by the prevailing culture.  A culture is a collection of rules, norms and customs of any particular group.
